Success stories
Sunday, November 8th, 2009 at 4:19 pmThis morning, I wasn’t able to go to church so I just watched a live TV Mass at Studio 23. The homily was about the life of a celebrity turned politician. The priest doesn’t know him personally, but he just feels that it was worth sharing. This politician had gone through a lot of hardships in life. He lived in Tondo, Manila, and belonged to a poor family, and worst they are not the legal family of his father. As young as 10 years old, he’s already helping his mother by going house-to-house while pushing a cart, collecting old newspapers and used bottles and other junks. He also tried the job of a garbage collector. And then, his life was totally changed when he got himself a break in show business after a talent scout discovered him in a funeral he attended. I guess, he’s not that unfortunate, he’s very lucky to have good looks
He was one of German Moreno’s talents in his daily variety show, That’s Entertainment. Does it ring a bell?
But there are lots of success stories out there, and most of them have the same plots, rags to riches, and you can’t help yourself but to be inspired.
Then the homily finally hit me. :-S I analyzed my life, scanned my own hardships and struggles, big problems and regrets, troubles I got myself into. But damn, what I had in my life were nothing compared to his! My problems are for the weak :-S Is it wrong to say that great success can only be achieved by people who suffered the most? Do we have to suffer first before we can be successful? Do I have to blame my parents for providing our family a good life? -insane question, just for dramatic effect purposes. Will I ever be successful in my life? Or my one great suffering is just a few years away? Oh God, I’m not implying anything :-S And will I ever get a chance to tell my own success story?
drama! :-S
Quarter life crisis is KILLING ME
The Bibi will eventually read this, and he will tell me again that..
